️ Common Fixes

  • No spark at the burner — worn or cracked electrode tip.
  • Intermittent ignition — failing ceramic insulator causing grounding issues.
  • Burner lights only with a match — electrode no longer producing consistent spark.
  • Weak or misaligned spark — damaged mounting stud or bent electrode.

Installation Tips

  • Disconnect the grill from power (if equipped with electronic ignition).
  • Remove the old electrode by loosening the mounting nut and disconnecting the spade connector.
  • Install the new electrode and ensure the tip is positioned near the burner for proper spark gap.
  • Check the collector box for corrosion and clean if necessary.
  • Test ignition before reassembling cooking grates and heat plates.

Restore dependable ignition performance with this OEM‑compatible Kenmore ceramic gas grill electrode.

Ceramic Gas Grill Electrode for Kenmore, 02617

    Posted by J.Tombrink on Nov 11th 2021

I am so glad I found this spare as they are rusting away on my Grandhall bbq after 14 years. They are a perfect replacement as Kenmore grills share most of the parts with Grandhall. Shipping outside the U.S. is a bit tricky though. On the first try in the summer it did not make it, but thanks to Seneca River Trading and USPS / DHL it now made it.
